TED HAFT 2009

Native New Yorker Ted Haft’s passion for art has accompanied him throughout his rich and varied life.  Originally inspired by the contemporary abstractionists, Haft quickly developed his own unique style while attending the prestigious New York High School of Art & Design in Manhattan.  His skills were further recognized when he was awarded an art scholarship to the Pratt Institute in New York City.
Instead of accepting the honor and studying at Pratt, Haft put his art career on hold in favor of business pursuits.  After an extremely successful career, he seized the opportunity to once again pursue his first passion and "true love" of creating original art.
Specializing in what he terms “Abstract Energy Art” this frenetic method of creation requires intense drive and stamina.  "My goal is to create form with both manic and meditative initiatives. I feel the shape and forms in my imagination, bursting to reveal and express themselves,” explains Haft.
Haft has studied at The Art Students League in New York City, The Boca Museum of Art School and The William Reed Sculpture Studio.  He recently was awarded an Honorable Mention from the Boca Museum Artists Guild for his acrylic on canvas work, “Green Storm”.
Today he is recognized in galleries and private collections throughout the United States, and continues to create and bring his inspirations to life through the canvas.
