Natalie Oswald is a fine artist and illustrator living in Seattle, WA. Current fascinations include Eastern symbolism, nature, warfare and flight. Oswald is fascinated by experimentation in method and technique. A background in the art materials industry has provoked a desire to manipulate materials, introduce the unexpected and encourage playfulness in all artistic endeavors.

Although Natalie's first love is oil painting she also paints in encaustic, acrylic and watercolor. She oscillates between working in a traditional, figurative method and a loose style of drips, daubs and spontaneous brushwork.

Current projects include an exciting collaboration with Portland artist Joel Barber, experiments with collage using encaustic and multi-layered acrylic paintings exploring the collision of Eastern and Western symbolism.
